Entrepreneurs conference
Monday, June 30th, 2008The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship just saw the conclusion of an amazing two – day long conference on the IIM Ahmedabad campus, the Entrepreneurs Conference.
The event started with a high tea, where we the people got to meet Sanjeev Bhikchandani (naukri), Deep Kalra (MakeMyTrip), Shantanu Prakash (Educomp), Anand Halve (Chlorophyll), Sandeep Singhal (Sequoia Cap) and many more biggies from across the Indian Business Community.
The audience then witnessed first of its kind cricket match between two teams comprising of Alumni from different batches. One team was led by Barua Sir and the other was led by Sanjeev Bhikchndani. Sanjeev won the toss and opted to bowl. Eventually, they won the match.
There was a Panel Discussion scheduled for the day on Entrepreneurship which was moderated by Prof. Sunil Handa (Eklavya Foundation), followed by a music performance by Gaurav Dagaonkar, IIM Ahmedabad Alum ‘06, who has recently launched his album – College Days.
The second day witnessed the launch of a Book – “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” written by Rashmi Bansal, another IIM Ahmedabad Alum and founder of JAMMAG . The book talks about the life and struggles of 25 entrepreneurs from the institute who have made the country proud. The article on the book as covered by TOI on the 3oth June.
The Centre had also put up three panel discussions for the second day, which gave insights on lot of issues related to Entrepreneurship. Overall, a day well spent.
The day ended with a concluding session, what would be the next steps, planning for the next years conference and how to promote and support Entrepreneurship more than what the centre is currently doing.
